All we can do is pray

All we can do is pray. This statement uttered in spiritual defeat bugs me. Does it bug you? I hope so. Prayer is not “all” we can do it is the “best” we can do. Prayer has turned into a last resort when it should be the first step.Â
The reliability of prayer is not in the prayer, but in the recipient of the prayer. Prayer is effective because of Who is being prayed to. Our God, all knowing, all powerful, holy, and righteous is the One Who hears our petitions. Should not that move us to pray more and more fervently. Should not we desire to approach this God first in all areas of our life. I am amazed at our “slow to pray” mentality this day and time.
I am convinced that the only hope that we have today for any ”real” change in our life is going to be wrought by God Himself. We cannot abandon our belief that God is able. What is going on in your life? What problems are you dealing with today? Do not “just” pray. PRAY! Trust God. Expect Him to answer. You might not get what you want, but in His sovereignty you will get what you need.
Do not be afraid, pray!Â
